Podium Park with nomination for the prestigious international award

A modern Podium Park office building in Cracow was nominated for the prestigious BREEAM Awards 2018. The project was included in the final six in two categories: among commercial investments with the INTERIM certificate for the Design Stage and the best projects in Central and Eastern European region. The winners of the competition will be announced on 6 March 2018 during the ceremonial gala in London.

BREEAM Awards is an annual competition organized by the international BRE Global certification institution (Building Research Establishment). The list of nominations was prepared by an independent jury, which selected the best projects among all certified buildings in the period from 1 December 2016 to 30 November 2017. Podium Park is on the “short list” in the categories of Commercial Project - Design and Regional Awards – Central and Eastern Europe. In April 2017, the office building received the INTERIM certificate at the Outstanding level.

“Podium Park sets European standards in the field of ecological office investments, which is confirmed by the received BREEAM INTERIM certificate at the highest possible level – Outstanding – and qualification to a short list in such a prestigious competition as the BREEAM Awards” – emphasizes Wojciech Dobrzański, President of the Podium Investment Management Board.

Podium Park is a prestigious investment with a timeless architecture, being erected in one of the most developing districts in Cracow. The planned date of completion of the first stage is June 2018. The project will cover over 50,000 m2 NLA of a modern and energy-efficient office space, characterized by the highest care for the quality of the internal environment, as well as the health and comfort of users.

As part of the entire complex, three buildings will be created, each of which can constitute a self-operating whole, recognizable in the context of the area through a characteristic appearance.

In each of them, modern solutions in the field of ecology, technology and cycling infrastructure were planned, including: rental of electric cars, bicycles and scooters, 36 stations for charging electric cars (the most in Poland), 310 bicycle racks, 27 showers, 294 cabinets for cyclists and a mobile bike repair station.

Podium Park will also contain extensive green areas with a total area of 5,000 m2, including two green courtyards and the Urban Farming zone.

Numerous facilities supporting the work comfort of all employees are planned in the office building. In the rooms, noise levels will be limited to up to 40 dB, and thanks to a modern air-conditioning system, the building will have up to 50% more air than expected by Polish standards. More than 60% savings in water consumption are anticipated in relation to the standard BREEAM requirements for office buildings, while maintaining full comfort of the users. A distinguishing feature of the investment of this scale in Poland will also be the facade made according to the thermal insulation requirements in force from January 2021. In the construction process, as much as 95% of the generated waste will be recycled.

The BREEAM standard is the leading certificate in Europe. It is a comprehensive ecological certification system assessing buildings in 10 categories.
