Podium Park among the most environment-friendly office buildings in Europe

Warsaw, 19 June 2017 Kraków’s Podium Park complex has obtained the prestigious BREEAM certificate at the Outstanding level. The project has received one of the highest ratings in Europe in the office building category according to the latest certification criteria.

The Podium Park will feature above-the-standard solutions regarding environment protection and bicycle infrastructure, significantly exceeding the requirements of the BREEAM certification, among others: rental of electric cars, bicycles and scooters, 36 electric vehicle charging terminals (the biggest station in Poland), 310 bicycle stands, 27 showers, 294 biker lockers and mobile bicycle repair station.
The project will offer areas with the total area of 5,000 square meters, including two green courtyards which will provide a perfect place for active rest and relaxation. These areas will be characterized by species biodiversity consistent with the BREEAM certificate. Carefully selected plants will be planted and feeders, drinkers and insect hotels will be built. The complex will be also enriched by an exceptional “urban farming” zone and two two-level catwalks with a green zone in the terraces with the area of 725 square meters each.

A number of facilities supporting work comfort of all employees have been planned in the office building. The noise level in the offices will be limited to 40 dB and, thanks to the modern air-conditioning system, there will be up to 50% more air in the building than required by the Polish standards. Over 60% water saving is envisaged compared to standard BREEAM requirements for the office buildings while maintaining full user comfort. What will distinguish the Podium Park will be its facade made according to the thermal insulation requirements effective as of January 2021.
Bulk of the waste generated in the construction process will be recycled.

The complex is being built in one of the fastest developing districts of Kraków. Direct access to city transport and very good connections with Kraków’s most important districts and business centers throughout Poland are ensured. The project is being developed in Kraków, at the junction of al. Jana Pawła II and ul. Izydora Stella-Sawickiego streets, in the vicinity of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the Kraków University of Technology, University of Physical Education and Tauron Arena. The office building is located in Kraków’s “green and sport basin” in close proximity to recreation areas, the Lotników Polskich Park and sports complexes. The project is being developed by Podium Investment.
The BREEAM standard is the most recognized and appreciated certificate in Europe. BREEAM is a comprehensive environmental certification system evaluating buildings in 10 categories. The Podium Park has obtained the INTERIM certificate according to BREEAM 2013 New Construction at the Outstanding level, scoring 88.9% points. This is one of the highest scores in Europe in the office building category according to the certification criteria prevailing since 2013. Only three office projects in Poland have received this distinction.
